Biography
Laurie L. Dolson is “of counsel” in the firm’s Fairfax Office. Her practice is entirely devoted to representation of community associations. Laurie joined the firm in 2018 following more than 35 years of serving common interest communities in Virginia, mostly with the Law Offices of Laurie L. Dolson, P.C., an established community association law firm. She has been a member of the Community Associations Institute (CAI) since 1983. While serving on CAI’s Virginia Legislative Committee, she helped draft the initial version of the Virginia Property Owners’ Association Act.
Laurie has held a number of leadership positions in local, state, and national bar organizations, including service as President of the Fairfax Bar Association, President of the Fairfax Law Foundation, Nineteenth Circuit representative on the Virginia State Bar Council, Chair of the Virginia State Bar Mandatory Continuing Legal Education Board, Chair of the MCLE Board Committee on Ethics Education, and service as a member of the House of Delegates of the American Bar Association.
She was a contributor to the Fairfax County Community Association Manual and is the author of articles and a lecturer on topics involving Community Association Law presented to lawyers, association leaders and management professionals.
She has received an “AV” rating from the Martindale-Hubbel Law Directory (also Lawyers.com), the highest possible rating in legal ability and ethical standards.
