Seminars on Community Association Law and Governance

Educational Sessions.  In an effort to share the latest and most timely information regarding developments in community association law, the Firm usually holds its Legal Seminar Series at various locations in Virginia and D.C. throughout the year.  Seminars generally include updates on legislation and case law, as well as other ongoing topics such as covenants enforcement, fair housing, association governance, collections and community association practices.

In November 2020, the Firm released a series of Fall Legal Webinars regarding a variety of topics, including operating in the COVID era, defamation, fair housing and a Virginia legislative update.  If clients or prospective clients would like a link to the private Youtube channel with the presentations, please email Cathleen Watkins at [email protected] 

Due to the COVID19 pandemic, in 2021, the firm is holding a series of Zoom webinars in mid-May and June, with live Q&A.  Schedule and details below.

Additional 2021 Legal Seminar Series Scheduled for June 24 and 30

In May and June, the firm held a series of Zoom webinars, with updates on COVID, E-Meetings, Fair Housing and Virginia Legislation.  Given high demand, the firm has scheduled two additional Zoom webinars for June 24 and 30.  Attendance will be limited to approximately 100 attendees per webinar, and Q&A will take place in a breakout room with approximately 30-40 attendees and two firm attorneys.

Virginia CICB Training 

The Firm is certified by the Virginia Common Interest Community Board to teach 4 hours of community manager license renewal training, which is open to Virginia managers and covers Common Interest Community Law (2 hrs) and Fair Housing (2 hrs).  We schedule CICB sessions throughout the year.  If a management company is interested in scheduling a session for its managers, contact Michele Green,

The next CICB class for Virginia managers is set for May 13 at 10 a.m, with the first session being Common Interest Community Law (10 a.m.), followed by Fair Housing (12 noon).   The class is free to all Virginia managers and taught via Zoom.  Please email Michele Green at [email protected] if you are interested in scheduling or participating in the upcoming Webinar.
