Seminars on Community Association Law and Governance

Virginia – D.C. law firm providing education and training, including Va. manager CICB credits

The Firm’s legal seminars in Virginia and D.C. are complimentary for all clients and guests of the Firm.  These presentations are held throughout the year and include updates on legislation and case law, as well as other ongoing topics such as covenants enforcement, collections and community association practices.  The Firm is certified by the Virginia Common Interest Community Board to teach 4 hours of community manager license renewal training, which is open to managers and covers Common Interest Community Law (2 hrs) and Fair Housing (2 hrs). We schedule CICB sessions throughout the year.  If a management company is interested in scheduling a session for its managers, contact Diane Deckant,  CICB Training sessions are scheduled throughout the year.

2018 Legal Seminar Series

The 2018 Seminar Series has been scheduled.  The dates and locations for the Seminar sessions are listed below.   Each Seminar includes a Legislative Update, plus four or five other topics.  The sessions will be approved by the Community Association Managers International Certification Board ( to fulfill continuing education requirements for the CMCA® certification.  

Please note that due to demand, we have two seminars in the Fairfax location, so clients can pick which session they prefer to attend.  Also, this year’s Roanoke session will occur on a Wednesday (instead of Thursday, as in previous years).  Topics for 2018 are listed below, and this site will eventually be updated to show what topics will be presented at each session.

A week prior to the seminar, registrants will receive an email containing a link for downloading the seminar materials.  Guests are welcome to bring iPads or laptops to take notes.  We will provide a complimentary copy of our annual CWMEB Statute Book at all seminars.
