On November, 3, Bruce Easmunt was honored to receive the WMCCAI Outgoing Board Member Recognition award at this year’s CAI Annual Awards ceremony. Bruce proudly served on the Washington Metro chapter’s Board of Directors from 2012 through 2018.
Brendan Bunn has been elected to serve a two-year term on the Board of Governors of the College of Community Association Lawyers (“CCAL”). CCAL was established in 1993 by the Community Associations Institute, with membership consisting of attorneys who have distinguished themselves through substantial contributions to the evolution and practice of community association law. There are fewer than 150 CCAL members nationwide. Brendan begins his term in 2019.
Allen Warren, Wil Washington and Brendan Bunn have each been selected to speak at the 2019 Community Association Law Seminar, to be held in New Orleans from January 23-26, 2019. Allen will serve as a panelist on the “Panel of Pundits,” while Wil will teach a session on attorney ethical obligations. Brendan will co-present a seminar on developer transition issues for homeowners associations.
Steve Moriarty and Michael Sottolano recently spoke to about 45 directors and managers at a Southwest Virginia CAI event. The topic was Board Essentials, including fiduciary duty, insurance, FHA compliance and others.
On November 2, 2018 Michael Sottolano was presented with the 2018 Past Presidents Award at the Central Virginia Chapter Community Associations Institute Annual Meeting and Awards Luncheon.
